New Zealand employers badly need overseas migrants

A survey the Employers and Manufacturers Association, conducted across almost 500 New Zealand employers, revealed that 49% of them were relying on overseas workers to fill vacancies. Most found it difficult or very difficult to find the right staff to develop their business and almost a third expected conditions to worsen in 2018. And the labour shortage seems to be hitting most industries.

On the bright side, we have observed that the new government is taking a pragmatic approach towards immigration and the severe cuts that were announced previously may not occur until later next year, if at all.
