There are several options to consider
While the most popular to move to New Zealand is residence under the 'Skilled Migrant Category', which requires a job offer from a New Zealand company, there are several options as a replacement, or leading to this process.
The study pathway
Depending on your background and your choice of study, you may be able to secure a student visa to study a level 7, 8, or 9 in New Zealand. In many cases, the family is eligible for visas while the principal applicant studies, and upon completion of a 12 to 18 months course in New Zealand, you may also be eligible for 3-year post-study visas. This then constitutes a fantastic advantage over many other applicants, in that you have an open work visa in hand, which makes it a lot easier to secure employment and seek residence under the Skilled Migrant Category.
If you have studied for 2 years leading to a Masters of Phd, you may also be eligible for residence outright.
Business migration
Though often a complicated and expensive pathway, there are ways to move to New Zealand via investment, or starting a business in New Zealand.
