New Zealand Shores Success Stories
The people here are kind and friendly!
Challenges
There are many different challenges when it comes to immigrating, some are easier than others. But the most challenging part of our immigration process was securing a job offer in New Zealand while being overseas.
NZ Shores advisers
My adviser was Anastasiya Florets’ka. Throughout the process, Anastasiya gave us her undevoted attention. Her professionalism was evident with the way she responded timeously, helpfulness, knowledgeable and made me feel like we were her sole priority.
First impressions
My first impression of NZ was that the people were kind and friendly, with a laid-back attitude. But also, how well maintained the communal areas were, they were clean and clear of any litter.
What we miss
What we miss from home most is our friends/family and the comfortable feeling of familiarity. Although there are countless South African shops across New Zealand to help us adjust to the growing pains of immigration, selling SA’s most popular products. Like Rooibos tea, Rooibaard sauce, biltong and rusks, just to name a few.
Our advice to new migrants
The best advice I can give migrants is to keeping persevering and read up to educate yourself. The process isn’t easy, but it is possible. Bring as many clothes as you can, things in NZ are expensive. Secondly, make sure you have enough savings to support you in the first few months. Thirdly, NZ is a very diverse country and lifestyles vary drastically between rural and urban areas. Also, I wish I knew how unpredictable the weather is in NZ!
