Changes for travellers entering NZ from July
Customs New Zealand has announced that a new, online, declaration form will be introduced for all travellers entering New Zealand from 10 July 2023. The change will first be implemented for those arriving in to Christchurch and Wellington airports and then from mid to late July, it will become available for people entering Queenstown airport.
Arrivals in to New Zealand’s largest international airport in Auckland won’t have access to the digital declarations until August. The aim is for the online declaration to replace, physical arrival cards, however, Customs have advised that the paper arrival cards will be available for some time while the new, digital process becomes imbedded.
The digital arrival cards have been developed off the back of Traveller Declaration which was introduced in 2022 for Covid and health declarations. It has since been scrapped for Covid purposes and is now being re-purposed with a fresh new look for the new digital traveller declaration.
