Employer accreditation: Reusing a job check token

Can I reuse a job check token?

Usually, a job token can only be used to apply for one Accredited Employer Work visa (AEWV). However, there are some situations where it can be reused if it is still within the 6 months of validity of the job check.

Situations when a job check token may be reused

A job token can be reused if:

  • The employer notifies Immigration New Zealand that the offer of employment has been withdrawn before the AEWV is granted, OR
  • The AEWV application made on the basis of the token is withdrawn, OR
  • The AEWV application is declined, AND
    • any request for reconsideration is also withdrawn or declined, or
    • it has been more than 14 days since the AEWV was declined and no request for reconsideration was made, or
    • the employer lets INZ know that they have withdrawn the offer of employment

After using the job token to support an AEWV application, if that application does not work out for some reason such as being declined or withdrawn, or the employer decides they no longer want to hire that person and withdraws the offer of employment, they can reuse the token for another AEWV application.

When can a token not be reused

Tokens cannot be reused an AEWV has already been approved.
